Five Months

Likes: story time, Sophie the giraffe, Freddie the firefly, the giant lumbering monstrosity that is the freaking Jumperoo, bathtime
Dislikes: distractions while eating, teething, the nasty flavors of infant pain relief (million dollar idea: milk-flavored infant pain relief)
Tolerates: bottles
Current popular nicknames: We've taken to spelling out his nicknames with blocks. I do not know why.
Currently entertaining: Anything he can grab goes right in his mouth, but he doesn't just chomp down on anything. He very carefully brings an item slowly to his lips before thoughtfully licking it and coating it in an impermeable layer of drool. He's clearly conducting scientific analyses on our belongings.
Additionally entertaining: I may have mentioned the giant lumbering monstrosity that is the freaking Jumperoo? He adores it. Loves it. Wants to marry it. His enthusiasm while jumping is unbearably cute. But things get really entertaining when he is both enthusiastic for the jumping and starting to get upset about something else (needing a nap, dirtying a diaper, etc.). He alternates laughing and fussing for maybe 5-second intervals as he decides which is more important.
Shocking: This kid flew through his clothes early on--newborn, 0-3, 3-6, and 6-month stuff. But he's gotten a bit more use out of his 9-month clothing, which he's worn since the move in November. It would seem, however, that he's ready to move on to some 12-month items. Sheesh, kid. At this rate, you'll borrow your dad's clothes for your first day of kindergarten.
Appreciates: A tasty carrot on which to gum. Yum.
Monthly quote-ables:
Great-Gram: Oh, his feet are puffy.
Tom: I think he just said "dad."
Auntie Meg: NUGGLEBOO!
